What Fishos Think About Us
"Run a Google search for Bass fishing and you will wind your way through pages on Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sea Bass, Bass in white wine sauce and bass guitars, eventually if you are like me you will happen upon a handful of pages dedicated to the capture of the Papuan or New Guinea Black Bass. A dark silvery grey marauder, that can shatter rods, mangle reels, and make grown men weep. After three trips to Papua New Guinea I can say with out a doubt these fish are probably the fiercest fish on the planet, what they can do to your line and hooks and the amazing speed and force they can apply is nothing short of spectacular.
It has been my pleasure to pursue these fish in the cleanest most unspoilt river systems i’ve ever come across. Papua New Guineas scenery is spectacular and its people friendly. The fishing areas are remote and the tribal traditions complex in nature.
Sport Fishing PNG's "Wild River Fishing" product run by Jason Yip is undoubtedly best placed to handle the complicated logistics of travelling deep into the interior. Fishing in the best and more remote regions is only possible with Jason's unique relationship with the local people and extensive knowledge of the fishing grounds. Listen carefully to Jason's advice on tackle and equipment and you have a chance to land one of these awesome fish."

Within an easy distance from Port Moresby, the Galley Reach area is a fishing gem. Because of the mass of water area and the fairly light fishing pressure you can be assured of plenty of uninterrupted water, in the large or small rivers, the creeks or the wide open spaces. The area is home to agreat range of fish species and fishing styles. Everything from Black Bass, Barramundi and Mangrove Jack to Fingermark, Bream and even GT's. And some of them are BIG and they all will give you the sporting fight you are
looking for. If you want to troll, cast or live bait you can do it all. And as an added bonus, the scenery is just gorgeous.

The PNG Black Bass best charm is that it is a "Herculean FIGHT!!" I am truly fascinated with their power. "Dorado" is know for its speed; "Peacock Bass" is know for their jump and for targeting big fish you look toward the Catfish and barramundi. But I can honestly say that "PNG Black Bass" is the most daunting challenge for me among the fresh water fishing targets. This is the main reason for me to continually return to PNG (Time and time again), and I know that it will take me forever until I can catch that world record Black bass!!"

As you would have heard, we did pretty well with the prizes in the SP - Presidents Tournament. Looking forward to giving it another bash sometime again soon!
